In the paper, the discharging method of NLG-1 superfine powder extinguishing agent was studied, which is one of the necessary conditions in engineering. With the performance of NLG-1 powder extinguishing agent and the application in fire powder of total flooding considered, the discharging method by exploding principle was proposed. Then the fire extinguishing equipment including shell, NLG-1 powder extinguishing agent, power agent, startup component and automatic fire alarm system was designed and developed. To evaluate the discharging effectiveness of the equipment, the concepts of discharging shape parameter and equivalent diameter were explained, and the effect of intensity of shell, type and mass of the power agent and the mass of fire extinguishing agent to the discharging shape parameter and equivalent diameter was studied. The results indicate that the discharging effectiveness was better when the discharging power was higher and the shell material was light, brittle and anti-fire. The Ni-Cr ignition component 1.2Ω in resistance could be used as a better startup component, which was propitious to automatically control, effectively avoid the interference of unstable current and to insure system security.
