Coil tilter is widely used in cold and hot rolled strip workshop of steelworks, for transition between arising coiled stock and lying coiled stock. The 30T coiling cross-train of the paper is a typical mechatronic products, it has not only coiling function but also transport, and will become a convenient tool.The structures of rising worktable and coiling worktable are studied with machine creative principle, which makes them more reasonable and have lower failure rate in the condition that they can meet the requirement of use. It can shorten the cycle of the research and development, lower costs and reduce the risk of manufacture when virtual manufacturing is used to the detailed design of the 30T coiling cross-train.In this paper, the parametric concept is introduced, and a parameterized FEA solid module of the frame based on parametric design language APDL of ANSYS is designed, which lays a good foundation for modification of solid model and design optimization. It is the most dangerous operating mode when clamp takes out arising coiled stock, in the mode, static analysis of the frame is done, stress picture and strain picture of all frame plates are gained. By comparing optimization, thicknesses of the up plate, the under plate and the vertical plate are reduced, so that the weight of the frame gets to perfect situation, and production cost is lower. In addition, the natural frequency of the frame has serious influence on systematic mechanics performance, so, in the paper, only the first ten steps of natural frequency and shaking types of the frame have been analyzed, which give good references for selecting electromotores and hydraulic pump.Hydraulic system and electronic control system of the 30T coiling cross-train are designed subsequently. Some problems are adequately considered when hydraulic system is designed, for example, synchronization and speed control. Siemens S7-200 PLC is used in electronic control system.Control program of ladder diagram is compiled by STEP 7~Wicro/WIN32 software, and has been downloaded into PLC for experimental verification. In the research and development, the design concept of organic combination of hydromechatronics is fully reflected, and the R&D products has some good characteristics: more loading capacity, more practical, simple operation, safe and reliable, easy maintenance, and so on.
