The development of a special open-architecture computer numerical control system based on PC is discussed in this article.This topic is brought up in the research of the fast-point (grinding) - machine,which is a Jiangsu Province natural aiticle,the aim is to solve the control problem related.This article discusses the problem of the motion control in the fast-point (grinding) - machine. Open-Architecture CNC system which selects appropriate hardware as the basis is proposed according to the CNC system's different requests. The system mainly includes the hardware and the software parts.The hardware part utilizes the PC as the corpus, with the motion control card plugging into the PCI slot. The total hardware parts are composed by the stepping motor driver mold piece and the spindle mold piece etc. The PC accomplishes the communication and control of the data with the motion control card through the bus in line. The real time control is realized by the CPU of the motion control card,including the handling of the speed,the interpolation,as well as the control of the location. The PC is responsible for the control parts,including the input/output of the signal,the compiling of program and the display part,the real-time requests of which is not high.On the basis of the hardware part,we utilize the Visual Basic 6.0 to develop the practical software, based on the operation system of Windows.The main function of the software is to accomplish the computer control and the frindly man-machine interface of the fast-point (grinding)-machine Open-Architecture CNC system.This article also studies the mechanical interpolation principle of the system.The interpolation principle of the ellipse and hyperbola in this system are also disscussed.
