With the rapid development of modern manufacturing,the traditional CNC system's weakness, such as,compatibility, expandability of functions, immobile human-machine interfaces etc, becomes apparent increasingly, traditional NC systems can't completely make use of the newly developed computer technology, so the development of NC technology was severely obstructed because of the closing of itself. Open architecture CNC system satisfies the development demand of modern technology, The research purpose of open CNC system is to solve the contradiction problems between the rapid changeable demands of market and the unique NC system,the close architecture etc, is to establish a universal system platform which will enforce the flexibility and adaptability of CNC system.This thesis does comprehensive research on the structure of open CNC system based on PC, taking the project "The reform of CK0625 lathe of Hunan Railway Professional-technology college" as the background of this thesis. After analyzing and comparing different structure of open CNC systems,we determined to develop an open CNC system based on the "PC+Motion control card" platform.Through the thorough function analysis of CNC system, According to OOP idea, system function modules of this control software are modularized and encapsulated.these function modules can be used in other similar CNC system.The hardware of this reform CNC system is made up of IPC, GT-200SV Motion control Card, servo motor drivers , servo motors, encoders , transducers etc.the soft ware of this reform CNC system includes NC code read and checkout module , Manually programming module, dynamic simulation module, real time display module, automatic machining ect. The implementing methed and program flow chart of each modules are expatiated in this paper.In addition.a three-dimensional dynamic simulation of processing procedure for NC system is implemented using OpenGL technology.Finally, the research contents of this project have been summarized and specific suggestions for the research and development of open architecture control system are offered.The design and realization investigated by the thesis based on PC+ Motion control card platform of open control system can bring theoretical guidance and practical experience for later research on the open control system based on PC.
