Based on the engineering case of Dongshan tailing pond, three main dams (include two main dams and a vice-dam) are the critical point of stability analysis according to spot investigation,checking related data to the project and analysising indoor data.The basis instance of DongShan tailing pond is introduced in this paper. Choose the stability of tailing dam to analysise correlative data. Take Tongji-dawning side-sloping software which is presently applying in geotechnical engineering world and comparative mature as tool.Three dams were used as analysis objectes. Analyse and count the stability of natural circulation , flood circulation and specific circulation,trace out slippage-face,and educe their safety factor.Undering the hypothesis of pond critical- state, separately analyse and count three dams unitary tailing stability of tailing thin-sand ,tailing powder-sand and tailing powder-soil.The paper introduces several ways of tailing pond safety assessment at last.
