A large amount of cavities formed by the metal mineral resources undergroundmining is not only endangering mine's safety but also bringing about serious difficultyto resource reclaim sufficiently. Therefore, take advanced Cavity Monitoring Systemas means, carrying out the research and application of relevance technology based onthe Cavity Monitoring System has been already becoming a significant research topicconfronted by our country metal mine safety in production.Methods such as theoretical analysis, scene monitoring, numerical simulationand so forth are used synthetically in the paper. With the Cavity Monitoring System(CMS), mining software such as Surpac, Datamine, Gocad and numerical simulationsoftware Phase~2 as the main implement, coupling the research projects of "The studyand application of the cavity monitoring technology" and "The study and applicationof mine dilution and loss precisely controlling and the pillar mine optimizingdesigning technology based on the Cavity Monitoring System", aiming at DongguaShan Copper Mine and Tongkeng Mine concrete project actual, research of the cavity3D modeling technology based on the CMS is carried out, and take this as basis, aseries of technology research include over-excavation and under-excavation of stopecalculation, the accurate measurement of stope dilution and loss rate, pillar recoverybased on the complicated stope bounary in Surpac and the stope mining processsimulation analysis based on monitoried cavities are carried out.There are weakness such as low visualization, low edit capability using CMSdata post-processing software to create cavity 3D model. Therefore the cavity 3Dmodeling technology based on monitoring data is bringed forward in the paper. Basedon the CMS data pretreatment software CMSPosProcess dealing with the monitoringdata, the paper applies CAD, Surpac, Datamine and Gocad to establish 3D cavitymodel.Considering the situation of Donggua Shan Copper Mine actual engineering,takes the cavity model as basis, a kind of precise method of calculate the volume ofstope over-excavation and under-excavation is put forward.A method that computes the stope dilution and loss index precisely is formed andthe method suits Donggua Shan Copper Mine. The method is applied in 52-2~#, 52-6~#,52-8~# and 52-10~# stope of Donggua Shan Copper Mine successfully. Aim at the reality of Tongkeng Mine, a technology of pillar 3D modeling ofcomplicated boundary is brought forward, and the mothed of blasting design usingSurpac for the complicated border pillar is applied in T505-T506 pillar of TongkengMine.A method of the stope mining process simulation analysis based on themonitoring cavities with the coupling of Surpac and Phase~2 is bringed forward. Themethod is applied in Donggua Shan Copper Mine successfully.The research results of the paper have been already used successfully inDonggua Shan Copper Mine and Tongkeng Mine.
