3D geological visualization modeling technology of mine is a concept that usingthe computing power which combined with certain data structure and logical thinkingof geological science to establish the model of geological characteristics and mineconstruction projects (roadway),and then under the help of visualization technologyto process the image and graphics,even display the3D model. The development ofthis technology provide a platform that will help Mine designers and professionalsunderstanding the three-dimensional position of mine.The implementation of this technology will predict the changes ofthree-dimensional body in mine engineering as soon as the design has been completed,anymore it will display in advance that the environmental and safety assessment inmine construction and production in front of the public. This will promote thedevelopment of domestic mining industry towards the safe and efficient direction.In the paper, under the help of3D mining software Surpac and the engineeringexample, we establish the3D geological visualization model of Jingyu Fuan collieryin Baishan province. The main work and research results are as follow:(1) Study and analysis the the present development situation, trends and relatedproblems of3D geological visualization modeling technology.(2)Study the geological characteristics of Jingyu Fuan colliery, especially theengineering geological characteristics, hydrogeological conditions, ore characteristics,etc. And also analyze the mining method.(3)Using the3D mining software Surpac to establish the3D model whichcontain surface model, fault model, orebody model and roadway model.(4) Study and analysis the construction principle and process of block model inSurpac, and then establish the block model of Fuan colliery which at last change intograde model under the use of the Direct assignment method and Inverse DistanceWeighted in block model assignment.
