Well blowout is a serious accident for oil and gas development, it not only influences production seriously but also brings about the enormous losses of manpower , material resources and financial resources. Blowout preventer internal drill string is the related series of production which prevent and deal with blowout. At present, the research for Kelleyguard which is important tool in blowout preventer internal drill string is weak, so the overall research for the Kelleyguard has both theoretical and engineering significance.Investigation and the materials of collection indicate that though the Kelleyguard is used widely in practice, some have not reached the anticipated result. The research object of this paper is STXS135 type Kelleyguard. Firstly, we have analysed synthetically such respects as structure characteristic ,material, working mechanism, failure reason ,etc. Then, we have set up the three-dimensional entity's model of its part on the basis of analysis by utilizing the mechanical automatic software Pro/ENGINEER, and finished the global assembly of STXS135 type Kelleyguard according to its concrete constraint.The fracture question of the valve body has been perplexing the manufacturer and user. This paper describes the question in detail, carries on the analysis of theory of mechanics for the valve body under different working loads and probes the stress concentration for the valve body. This article also sets up the finite element model of the valve body with ANSYS software, analyses in detail about the intensity of valve body under many kinds of loads such as pulling, torsion, internal pressure. In this paper, Bilinear following intensified model is adopted and the plasticity characteristic of the material is fully considered. Finally, the main reason of stress concentration of valve body is found out and the improving suggestion is offered. The research work will supply the theoretical supervise worth consulting for improving and developing the Kelleyguard.
