As the west-east gas transmission pipeline carrying into execution, pipeline transportation is more and more important in the national economy. In the recent years, the safety position of pipelines is very critical in our country, especially of the gas pipeline that traverses river, the collapsible loess region and the land slide region. There hasn't specialized assessment method for these special pipes. Therefore, this paper mainly researches the risk assessment method for these pipes, to evaluate the pipes' safety quantitatively and to provide technical support for pipelines' safe operation.Pipelines risk assessment is a new pattern of pipelines' safety assessment technology that originated abroad in nineteen seventies and has strong practical pertinence. In this paper, it sets forth in brief the development background, home and abroad current study situation, the basic theory of risk assessment of gas pipelines. By the mechanics way, the mechanics models of the pipeline are established respectively that traverse river, the collapsible loess region and the land slide region, in addition, the mechanics analysis and calculation are given. Based on the basic ideology and evaluation methods of risk assessment of gas pipelines abroad, combining these special pipelines' real conditions, complying with technical standard and safety criterion of national gas pipelines, accident probabilities that happen in area of special gas pipelines have been analyzed, thus the risk assessment factor system of special gas pipelines that is more complete and can adapt to the national practice of gas pipelines has been established respectively. Moreover, quantitative the quantitative assessment of some important factors in the system comes true.Meanwhile, considering that not all factors can be quantitative, the multilevel fuzzy comprehensive evaluation has been established to evaluate gas pipelines. The uncertainty Analytic Hierarchy Process has been used to make certain various factors weights and improves on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation in order to adapt to practical conditions. Based on the rank weights and the rank assessment matrix of various factor given, according to proper fuzzy arithmetic, the fuzzy assessment aggregate of gas pipeline risk can be calculated. To reckon the relative risk value of pipes, the paper has also established the evaluation rule for the the magnitude of pipelines' accident. Thus the risk rank of pipeline is determined and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of gas pipeline risk has been achieved. Finally, On the basis of above studies, software that can evaluate the special gas pipelines' risk has been developed and introduced.
