The research of the reversing smoothness is having been popular topic for the high-speed, large-scale and reciprocating machine tool. The reversing process is controlled by the control system of machine tool, and the reversing stopping process determines the reversing smoothness in the reversing process. Then the design of the control system of machine tool and the study of the reversing stopping process are advanced.Comparing with the mechanical drive system, the fluid drive system have many advantages, such as simple structure, constitutes convenience, controlled-easily, and good flexibility, so it is extensively applied in the manufacturing. This paper analyses the advantage and disadvantage of the reversing process realized by the diversified fluid drive reversing system which is active in checking many documents at home and abroad, then designs a fluid system which is based on electro-hydraulic proportional control technology, and the subject investigated of this system is the high-speed plat grinding machine.Electro-hydraulic proportional control technology is not only a feasible and low-price technology, but also its control precision and response performance can satisfy with the practical requirements in the engineer. It fills up the blank between the technique of the switch-control and servo-control, and is an important branch in the fluid drive and in the control technique. The electro-hydraulic proportional control technology has a broad prospect in industrial application.This high-speed plat grinding machine's fluid system which is based on electro-hydraulic proportional control technology mainly adopts electro-hydraulic proportional directional valve as controlled organ of reversing process, and makes use of the advantage of electro-hydraulic proportional control technology sufficiently. This paper builds up mathematics model of the fluid system, and analyses its dynamic qualities in detail according to the principle of control theory. The time of reversing stopping process is very short, and only uses transient process of response, so the question which text concerned about is the rapidity of response of the system. Thus it applies phase lead correction and PD correction to improve the rapidity of response of the system, namely, increasing some devices and component to the original system purposefully, changing the structure and the function of the system factitiously, and getting the result which we need. System correction can resolve the shortage of the system function availably.The key factor which impacts the reversing smoothness of the system is reversing stopping process, so the paper discusses this process detailedly. This paper, first, builds up the metewand of reversing stopping process by analyzing the reversing pounding mechanism, and puts forward three evaluating indicators; then, chooses the control parameters according to the system; next, analyses several common control curve of stopping process earnestly, and gets a optimization control curve which can achieve the smooth reversing stopping process of the high-speed plat grinding machine; finally, simulates the reversing stopping process through computer on the basis of the SIMULINK toolbox of MATLAB language, and uses the means of adjusting parameters on line.
