With the development of computer technology and simulation technology, the numerical control simulation technology has become a kind of effective method of foreseeing machining process performance, product quality and processing efficiency in the modern manufacturing industry.Firstly, according to the actual features of engineer and application requirements, the overall structure based on three-dimensional entity is proposed in this dissertation. The models in the simulation system are designed according to the function requirement of the NC machining simulation system, and the key technology is discussed. Secondly, analysis of the current several geometry modeling method of the virtual machining process simulation, and integrated the advantages of discrete vector modeling and image space modeling, the method of the triangular grid modeling is used to build the fixture, workpiece and tool models in the paper. Thirdly on the base of analysis of the structure and format of NC code, NC code translator is studied including the grammar and morphology of NC code. In this paper, the simulating system oriented to virtual manufacturing is achieved by using OpenGL on the platform of Visual C++ 6.0. Under the driver of NC code of system, the simulation process is realized.As for this system, it has a friendly interface and a good real-time quality. Its source codes have been modularized with good transplantable and practicable natures, which is a foundation of function extension. This system will surely have a good prospect of application.
