Of Modern Urban Housing As A Whole Kitchen Cabinet Design Study

With the fast development of social economy and reformation of civic housing, more and more people have had their own dwellings. With the introduction of a integrated kitchen, Kitchen decoration is becoming the focus of housing design.Kitchen is a complex system with many design elements. This paper does some research on cabinets, which is the core of kitchen. With the guide of systematic methodology, this paper first builds a model of all elements in cabinets design, and made some discussion on the china's traditional diet custom and the history of kitchen in both China and western countrys, and gets the soft factors in integrated cabinet design; second, with the systematic analysis of Chinese modem urban integrated cabinet, gets the hard factors in integrated cabinet design; last, investigates the representative city with questionnaire to validate the conclusion, and deliver the foundation and mode to guide the integrated cabinet design.This paper explains the unity of the functions and the forms of modern kitchen, and the reasonableness of space layout, with the influences of lighting. And it also focus on the systematic analysis of the functions of the integrated cabinet and analyses the material, color, style, hardware and ergonomic factors,then try to summarize the theoretical basis of the cabinets design. It also analyses China's modern urban population living, and gets the overall interactive kitchen design, then forecasts the trends of the development of cabinets in the future. At last, the paper validate the conclusions with the design practice.
