Sinking headframe is one of the most important structures in shaft construction equipments .It is used to promote shaft sinking and vertical shaft, to ship people and materials and to suspend tunneling equipment. No load the headframe structure withstands is static except for the headframe structure itself In the coal mine production, the headframe mainly withstands some special loads such the extracting working loads, rope checking loads and rope breaking loads. All these loads are dynamic loads that are changing according to different time. It is obviously that the deviation with the design is large if we make the study of headframe using the static analysis and static method. Therefore, if we take the dynamic load as the actual load that the headframe structure withstands when we make the study of headframe's dynamic characteristics, theories of headframe design and safe evaluation can be more accurate scientifically and more reasonable. This paper introduces the principle of optimization design. Using full stress method and the OPT module in ANSYS, the finite element software, to optimize the main headframe during drilling a well, so as to get the most superior section size of each pole and reduces the structure's weight.Modal analysis is one kind of latter-day theory on dynamic characteristics research, and now becomes the core of dynamic analysis and design in modern engineering. Natural frequencies and modes of vibration of structure resulted from modal analysis are the important parameters on dynamic design of structure. So it is the start of all dynamic analysis, transient analysis especially. This paper uses the finite element method to complete the analysis of derrick modal, and obtain the first ten step natural frequency and the mode of vibration. This paper has realized the key analysis of the drilling a well derrick transient state dynamics by using the large-scale finite element software ANSYS, and has completed the transient state dynamics analysis under the special condition of derrick, seeking to change rule of time of each direction.
