With the developement of manufacturing industry, the competition of markets becomes more and more fiecre. The companies who want substantial development must make fast reaction to the markets and clients. Strengthening and reinforcing the management with enterprise information has become a trend. The workshop, base of the production unit, is important to improve the production quality and ensure the delivery date. And workshop manage system is an important part of the enterprise information.This paper is based upon a practical project of information management system for a forging company. Aiming at the forging industry, this paper develops the workshop system based on JavaEE and B/S. The main researches contained are as follows:Firstly, the investigation on the development of workshop management technology has been completed. After the analysis of the forging trait and the problems in workshop management, the requirements analysis is finished, and the function modules are built. Secondly, two kinds of shop scheduling of forging is studied. The first scheduling is considered as a kind of parallel machines scheduling with special process constraints. A mathematical model of forging shop scheduling is proposed and an improved genetic algorithm is adopted to solve the scheduling optimization with a proved example. The second is considered as combination stacking of steel. The solving method is studied. The method of fuzzy clustering analysis is used to classify the forging pieces as well as mathematical programming method to realize the combination optimization. Finally, workshop management, containing task management, logistics management and assignment controlling are analyzed and designed in detail. The system database and used technology is studied.This paper applies the information means into forging production, design a workshop management system for a forging enterprise with modern management conception introduced into traditional industry. The research provides a good condition for the company's further development. The system was applied and the result shows that the system is valuable.
