In this dissertation, the black toner were made by means of suspension polymerization, and inorganic and organic chromatic pigment was used to made the chromatic toner by means of suspension polymerization. The particle size distribution, appearance features and glass transition temperature was obtained for the toner by the way of mastersizer Instrument, scanning electronic microscope (SEM) and characterization of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). Then, for the purpose of overcoming the difficulty of inorganic and organic chromatic pigment's dispersing in the organic monomer, coupling was used to surface modified to the inorganic chromatic pigment, the surface modified chromatic pigment was used to made the toner by suspension polymerization, this toner was compared to the toner being made by the chromatic pigment that was not surface modified. It can be found that the toners made by the modified chromatic pigment are better.According to the result of research, we can discover that:1.After the carbon black was surface modified, the toner made by it was better than that not surface modified in the particle size distribution and appearance features.2.When inorganic chromatic pigment was directly used to make the toner, the particle size distribution and appearance features was not satisfying, so inorganic chromatic pigment should be surface modified by the coupling agent. The toners made by the surface modified chromatic pigment are better than that be made by the toner made directly by the chromatic pigment in particle size distribution and appearance features.3.When the organic chromatic pigment was used to made toner, the pigment can be dispersed in the organic monomer, so the toner made by the organic pigment will be better than the toner made by the inorganic pigment, both in particle size distribution and in appearance features.
