Tobacco flavours and essences in production are classified as monadic perfume, products of sub-suppliers and products of feeding perfume by tobacco enterprises. Monadic perfume is generally not unique; and products of sub-suppliers from unique. Products of feeding perfume by tobacco enterprises are products of the second deployment by perfumer using the products of sub-suppliers. The purpose of this subject is the transition gradually from the current deployment of enterprise products using products of sub-suppliers to the single deployment using monadic perfume directly by analysing completely monadic perfume and products of sub-suppliers. Solution to this problem lies in analysing the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences. Analysis of the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences need qualitative analysis from a complex system (flavour and essence) to other complex systems (essential oils, extracts, tinctures, etc.), so hyphenated chromatographic instruments combined with chemometric methods has become an inevitable choice for analysing the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences. In this paper, the applicability of various pre-treatments on tobacco flavours and essences is compared and hexane ultrasonic extraction as pre-treatment and GC/MS as the method of separation and detection are established. Beside, analysis of the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences is preliminary discussed. In the first part of this paper, the classification of tobacco flavours and essences and the comparison of the methods to extract tobacco flavours and essences are introduced followed by the importance of applying chemometric methods in analysis of the recipe of tobacco flavours. In chapter two, the impacts of different pre-treatments which contain hexane ultrasonic extraction, dichloromethane ultrasonic extraction, simultaneous distillation extraction, solid-phase micro-extraction, hexane solvent extraction and dichloromethane solvent extraction on analysis result of FructusMume Concrete are compared. Hexane ultrasonic extraction is determined as pre-treatment to establish the chromatographic fingerprint database. Optimal conditions for the extraction of volatile constituents from FructusMume Concrete using solid-phase micro-extraction method (SPME) are studied. PDMS fiber sampling 45min in the equilibrium temperature of 70℃is determined as the optimum extracting condition. In chapter three, the chromatographic fingerprint database of essential oils is established by using chromatographic fingerprint technology and chemometric methods. The essential oils of blending formula are identified intellectually. In the last chapter, two kinds of products of sub-suppliers are analyzed. Their similarity of real chromatogram and simulative chromatogram are both more than ninety percent and their smell are measured the same class by odor scanner. The qualitative identification of the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences is realized and analysis of the recipe of tobacco flavours and essences is preliminary discussed.
