In this paper, collagen was extracted from the pig skin in the way of enzyme, and blended with sodium alginate solution, through studying the rheological behavior of the blended solution, the optimal spinning solution was prepared, the corresponding structure and characterization of the blended fiber were also studied.Study the affection of the substrate concentration, enzyme dosage, temperature, time, pH value, and other conditions referencing to the extraction rate of collagen. Experiment show that the optimal conditions of extraction:m (pig skin):v (0.5mol/L acetic acid)= 1:10, m (enzyme):m (raw material)=1:50, the temperature controlled at 4℃, extraction time as 72 hours. Under the program, the extraction rate of collagen was 20.37%, and extracted collagens did not denaturate and maintain its natural triple helix structure.Study the rheological behavior of the sodium alginate/collagen spinning solution with different proportion of collagen, different temperatures and different shear rate. The results showed that sodium alginate/collagen blended solution was the kind of "shear thinning" solution. With the raising of temperature, the non-Newtonian index of solution increased and structural viscosity decreased. In the conditions that the total concentration was 3.5%, the apparent viscosity of the solution increased at first and then decreased with the increase of collagen content; As the temperature increased, the apparent viscosity of the solution decreased, and as the temperature rised highly, the curve line of the blended solutions with different composition was consistency; As the shear rate increased, the apparent viscosity of the solution gradually decreased.Optimizate the preparation process of sodium alginate/collagen blended fiber with discussing the effect of solution concentration, coagulation time and drying temperature on the breaking strength of fibers, and determine the optimum spinning conditions: collagen content was 15%; calcium chloride concentration in coagulation bath was 3.5%; the pH value of coagulation bath was 4.0; coagulation time was 50s; drying temperature was 50℃; draw ratio of fiber was 30%. Under this condition, the tensile strength of the blended fiber was 1.55cN/dT; elongation rate was 33.68%, also possesed better water absorption property. It was also found that the mechanical properties of the fiber improved greatly by adding ethanol in coagulation bath; the glycerol in the spinning solution was also conducive to the improvement of the mechanical properties of the fiber.
