The development of road traffic and automobile industry have been bringing convenience to the life of people, but meanwhile traffic accidents and other problems has been brought about. Among road traffic accidents of the world that taking place, it is largely due to the factors of the driver. Therefore it has important significances to do research on safety of driving behavior of the driver for reducing traffic accident. The overtaking problems of bidirectional two lanes are typical problems in traffic field. The research of behavior safety has been done by means of overtaking process in bidirectional two lanes in this paper, hoping to establish a module which can evaluate the behavior safety in overtaking process.From the point of traffic accidents brought about by overtaking process and overtaking process on bidirectional two lanes, the theoretical analysis of driving behavior about driver has been introduced. Then overtaking process on bidirectional two lanes was divided into five stages, providing index parameters of overtaking behavior safety of driver. The static scene of overtaking process was established in road traffic simulation system in traffic faculty, kinetic parameters of each vehicle in overtaking kinetic scene were confirmed according to rated value of overtaking range of visibility on bidirectional road of our country, establishing a reasonable and feasible overtaking scene including four different speeds section of highway.Select a certain number of drivers and do tests in an emulator, complete overtaking process, collect and record the displacement,speed,acceleration, and other parameters of the drivers in experimental process, make a questionnaire survey DBQ after the experiment. Evaluate behavior safety of the drivers in overtaking process using those indicators, obtain a model to evaluate behavior safety of the drivers using multivariate linear regression analysis methods This scene and model can be used in driving behavior safety evaluation and drivers' training, improve the behavior safety of drivers in overtaking process, to reduce road traffic accidents.
