The rapid development of ourcountry's economy has led to the progress of the highway. At the same time,Personal and property losses caused by traffic accidents are also high. Therefore, the evaluation method of linear and safety of highway has a very important significanceto reduce traffic accidents from the source. For the road safety, vehicle speed is an extremely important factor. In the current highway design system in China, design speed is the basic parameter for route design. The value of the design speed is fixed, but the actual running state of the vehicle on the road is always changing, and the actual running state of the vehicle on the road can be reflected by the running speed. On some roads in our country, the linear indicators of some sections can meet the requirements of the current specification, but there are still a lot of traffic accidents.Aiming at this situation, based on running speed, this paper puts forward the design method and control index of road route. The purpose is to control traffic accidents from the source, and the each index of the roads will be more balanced and continuous. So the incidence of traffic accidents will be reduced.Starting from the factors that affect the speed of two lane highway, this paper puts forward the method of determining flat straight sections and curve section running speed, and the prediction model of the running velocity of the road section, the longitudinal section, the horizontal section and the curved slope is established. At the last,in order to evaluate two-lane road line selection and safety based on the continuity of speed index and coordination index and comfort index, and combine the singing of dunhuang city landscape avenue along the actual case is evaluated. The evaluation results show the applicability of the speed prediction model and the rationality of the evaluation method.
