The damping technique is a hot topic of the research on Noise&Vibration at home and abroad, and the particle impact damper technique is widely used in this field. This paper makes an overall induction of experimentation and mathematical analyse method to investigate the impact damper's theory. Contraposing the antetype of the dot matrix printer head, a new kind of impact damper-the particle impact damper is presented in engineering application.This damper put in an excellent performance on controling Vibration with wide frequency range, adjusting easily, low impacting noise and without limitation of fixing space.In the test, a new symmetrical counterpoise cantilever beam-damper structure was designed to investigate the influences of absorber's mass ratio, shock clearance, and granularity. After the demarcate test between the strain gages and the acceleration transducer, we come to a conclusion:the structure is reasonable because the result is linear. Then based on the forms of cyclic impacts we set up a mathematical model-cantilever beam-damper to analyse cyclic solutions and their stabilities in order to approach relationships between the forms of cyclic impacts and vibration severity of the primary system.Based on the conclusion, put the absorber on printer head for controling its vibration by expending the impact time and minishing the impact energy. After the noise test we found that it is lower than before.
