Digital oscilloscope is a sort of measuring instruments widely used in radio measurement, which is irreplaceable in time domain measurement. Most voltage of the signal in radio measurement changes depend on time. In order to make the digital oscilloscope work in the qualified status, it is an urgent task which is placed in the test engineers for regular rapid comprehensive testing and guarantee traceability digital oscilloscope. Traditional manual verification is not only low efficiency but also easily error, test engineers need to read a lot of information about digital oscilloscope for each test require; automatic test system may quickly and accurately measure parameters, visual show test results, storage test data and so on the features, it can not be achieved task in the traditional manual testing. Therefore, it's the trend that programmed control verification of digital oscilloscope is implemented by automatic test system.Oscilloscope is widely used, the workload of calculation and verification of oscilloscope is also heavy in each level of calculation department. For manual measurements, reading the data, recording data, calculation error, printing certificates, prone to human error readings or record, automatic verification device is produced by combining the oscilloscope calibrator (FLUKE 9500) with the function of programmed control and the digital oscilloscope that is to be tested, and the software composed by Visual Basic 6.0 is used to control the tested digital oscilloscope to perform automatic test according to the national verification regulation. Finally, automatic verification is realized by get the mixed signal oscilloscope (Agilent 54622D) produced by Agilent Company involved in.This thesis mainly introduces the automatic test system of digital oscilloscope, in which remote control and operation of the oscilloscope calibrator and digital oscilloscope is realized though USB/GPIB interface card and RS232 serial port bus. The principle of this automatic test system is to send out SCPI order and receive data though VISA, one of IO library of Agilent, while message-based oscilloscope calibrator and digital oscilloscope receive SCPI order sent by computer, response to user through order translation by its own CPU, and send the data to bus, buffer zone or memory for further process. Automatic test lower cost of verification and calibration, boost efficiency, and decrease artificial effect, so it will probably be widely used in the future. The design method in this thesis is also applicable to verification of other electronic measuring instruments.The efficiency of this automatic test software of digital oscilloscope is more than ten times as that of manual verification, the possibility of error is decreased significantly due to elimination of artificial operation such as manual data reading, record and error calculation. This automatic test software promotes the quality of verification, makes the record more standard, the certificate more reliable, fills the gap of automatic test of the company. The automatic test software of digital oscilloscope is planed to be used in verification of digital oscilloscope of the company, and copyright of the software had been successfully applied.
