Passive design is a low technology mode of energy effciency in buildings. It is the main methode to meet the man's comfort requirements in architecture when science and technology ware underdeveloped.It requires architect to give full play of individual ability to make environmental comfortable by using the sunshine, ventilation and all of these can reduce energy consumption.Passive design can make us using nature better, closer to the nature and living healthy.As a most important place of one's life, residential building is consuming energy more and more. Beijing is in the cold area,of all the energy consumed,for heating accounted the most.Besides that,because of the "Heat island effect",the energy consumed for air-condition in summer is more and more.According to the climate characteristics of Beijing, this graduation dissertation focuses on energy consumed for heating and the energy consumed for air-condition. To get more solar heat, improve the palisade structure performance continuously in winter and strengthen the natural ventilation, use sunvisors shade from the sun in summer are the purposes by using passive design.On the basis of analysising the methodes of passive design,this graduation dissertation discuss the energy-saving of Beijing by data calculation, software simulation and theory analysis, the practice exploration.
