Continued growth in import and export of container put higher port requirements in the development. Currently, state and local governments actively support the planning and construction of container terminals rapidly. Tianjin Port as the largest port in China is one of North China, Northwest China and the Beijing-Tianjin region's major waterway transport hub, has formed a fast, well-developed inland collecting and distributing traffic system. when the Tianjin Port is built into an international shipping center in North China, the container throughput in the next decade will be faster growth, The development of Tianjin Port Container Terminal will also face new opportunities and challenges. In the new situation, Tianjin Port container terminal planning and construction is of great significance.Container terminal is a complex discrete event dynamic system, which has dynamic, stochastic, asynchronous features. Operating characteristics for terminals, using discrete event simulation theory, The paper established container terminal simulation model of the logistics processes by event-oriented simulation method. Then the paper simulated road traffic system on the Tianjin Port Container Terminal on the Witness simulation software. Finally on the traffic flow theory, the simulation results were analyzed. The established simulation model is carried out in Tianjin Port Container Terminal evaluation, which makes Tianjin Port Container Terminal traffic system optimization strategy to improve the efficiency of container terminal operations and provides advice and recommendations for Tianjin Port Container Terminal planning and management.
