With the integration of the world economy, the trades between China and other countries are continues to develop, and the port throughput are growing increasingly fast, all of that give the port more higher requirement on the process mode and handling technology of the loading and unloading operation, and have brought the unprecedented challenges on the planning and management of the container terminal. Therefore, how to effectively use the limited resource facilities of container terminal to fulfill the loading and unloading operation has been a major issue for the managers of the container terminal.In container terminal, the yard is the place for transshipment, stacking, management and repairing of containers, and its operation efficiency directly affects the overall efficiency and competitiveness of container terminal, so it is very important to research the operation modes and the scheduling problem of the equipments in the yard. Therefore, this paper research the simulation and optimization of the yard in container terminal and the scheduling problem of the yard crane using the knowledge of the computer simulation theory, operations research, optimization theory and method and so on. This thesis achieves the following results:(1)Based on the analysis of the practical operation of the yard in the container terminal, and the characteristics of the Rubber-Tired Gantry Crane (RTG) and the Rail Mounted Gantry Crane (RMG), we design the operation logic of the device in the yard, including the logics of the RTGC, the RMG and the Truck according to the operation mode of the RTG and the RMGC, two different kinds of the operation modes of the Gantry Crane in the yard. Then we build two kinds of the simulation models of the yard logistics system in the container terminal based on the two kinds of operation modes. After that, we execute the experiments of the two simulation models based on a real container terminal and the real data of it in tianjin, then compared the effects of the two kinds of operation modes on the operation efficency of the container terminal logistics system, and take this as a conference for the management of the actual container terminal.(2)According to the actual operation of the yard in the container terminal, we establish the path optimization model of the gantry cranes under the consideration of the waiting time when gantry moving to the target position and the restow time when service a container, to minimizing the total working time for the all the tasks. Then using hybrid optimization algorithm GATS to solve this problem.
