With the development of economy, traffic problems becomes mo re and more prominent each day. Road alignment condition has a ver y significant impact on road safety.Based on the collection and analysis of relevant information and documentation, the paper first made a systematic analysis about the re asons that affect traffic safety analysis, which leads to the importance that road alignment conditions to traffic safety.Second, from all aspects of route design (horizontal alignment, p rofile alignment, cross-sectional design, linear combination of design), the paper made a detailed analysis about the various elements to the impact of road traffic safety. The results showed that the combinatio n of horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and vertical alignment p eace has a greater impact on road safety.Third, from the perspective of road traffic safety, Paper pointed out some currently prevalent problems in route design, and in some c ases limiting the maximum radius of the vertical curves on the road a ccording to the longitudinal changes.Through the transition section of high longitudinal analysis of dual-slope phase, pointing out that the c urrent high rate of the Mistakes of the gradient.To ensure road safety in operational process, in the course of roa d design, the safety of road design should be evaluated. Current appli cation of the more common method is to predict the speed sections, a nd by the speed difference between adjacent sections of road safety e valuation.Therefore, the paper then described the operating speed of curren tly available prediction models, that the ordinary road speed predictio n model inadequacies, and by analyzing the dynamic characteristics o f the vehicle and climbing ability, on the basis of existing models, est ablished the new two-lane truck operating speed prediction models.Finally, according to the use of new and old models being built in Hunan Province G106 second section of the PingJiang, the paper made calculation and assessment of its speed and road safety. two res ults of models shows that the new model is better to reflect actual ru nning state of the vehicle. Meanwhile the results of road safety evalu ation also show that in some part of the road G106 road safety hazar d exists, and pointing out the corresponding improvement measures.
