In this paper, the behavior of shear resistance of web steel stud walls was studied by nonlinear finite element analysis based on consulting a lot of references.According to the actual wall construction, nolinear finite element analysis considering geometric large deformation and nonlinear materials is used to simulate common cold-steel composited walls under monotonic load in this paper. Members are modeled as shell elements shell181. Every screws connecting sheathings to the frame is modeled by three one direction spring elements combin39. The equation resolution method is selected by ANSYS program automatically. The finite element analysis results are in good agreement with experimental data. Via this method, factors that influence to the shear-resistance of walls were researched, the results show that difference thickness of pillars and the strength of steel members and the count of blocked has little influence the shear-resistance of walls, space between pillars and material of wall sheathing has greate influences to the shear-resistance of walls, screw spacing has great influence to the shear-resistance of walls within the allowable range of the material strength.Finally, according to the research findings, some reasonable proposals are obtained for designing of the composited walls.
