As public awareness of energy and environmental protection growing, more and more electronic control system is applied to the vehicle engine. The coupling of electronic control system and the inherent contradiction of the control parameters, result in the calibration process of vehicle engine control system often requires higher costs and longer cycle. In order to reduce calibration costs, shorten the calibration cycle and improve the accuracy of calibration results, model-based automatic calibration technology has been widely studied as an important means to develop electronic control system. This article focus on model-based auto-calibration carried out the following studies:1, Two different models are build for experiment engine with using Simulink software and the GT-Power software.The property of two models are compared and analyzed, as well as torque, power and fuel consumption rate by the GT-Power model and the real engine under full load are compared. The GT-Power engine model will be used for simulation calibration.2, The simulation calibration model is designed by the Simulink coupled with the GT-POWER software. the external load control is finished,and the fuel injection and ignition initial MAP is generated. The MATLAB software with programming functions can automatically and quickly completed the calibration process. software automatically and quickly completed the calibration process simulation.3, The EFI engine automatic calibration system which include hardware device, CAN communications and control software components is established.Hardware consists of engines, dynamometer, air-fuel ratio meter, emission device, fuel consumption meter components. Automatic calibration system control software using LabVIEW 8.6 software can adjust searching engine control parameters online. automatic calibration system control principles introduced.4, The calibration experiment is finished with EFI engine automatic calibration system. The parameter of automatic operation points for dynamometer control system is set. The automatic calibration system automatically optimize control parameters to get the MAP by the end. The automatic calibration system is verificated to achieve intended functions in a real bench test.
