Based On 32 Cmm Systems Integration

Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) is a general geometric measurement equipment, which has been widely used in many fields.In order to realize the integration of CMM and CAD/CAM, some new ideas and methods are given in this paper to overcome limitation in the 16-bit CMM software system.The application is a 32-bit program. So it can supply higher speed than 16-bit application and it can be run under the 32-bit operating system. In this system, a Virtual Device Driver is developed, so the system can gather data from hardware port when interrupt is occurred. Communication between the CMM application and theAutoCAD system is also realized. As a client, The CMM application can sendcommands to the AutoCAD, and get a response from the server, On the other hand,AutoCAD .DXF files is translated into CMM motion controller file to constructautomatic measuring code.The principle in this paper can be applied to the other similar case.
