Landscape Design And Evaluation Of Bridge Aesthetics

Along with the development of economy and the progress of science and technology, beautiful environment is desired. And so bridge-design aesthetics is regarded more and more highly. Aesthetics comes to be what civil engineers must take into account. In this paper the form and function of bridges and the concept of bridge/place integration are involved to discuss the subject of bridge design. The paper also use some various terminologies to discuss concepts and laws of aesthetics. All three major aspects of bridge architecture-form, color and materialinteract under the laws of aesthetics and make up of the monolithic beauty of bridge. It is the design and evaluation of landscape of bridge that put the thoughts of esthetics on practice. In the last decades, hardware in computer and software for computer both make rapid progress and so the visual arts of bridge become more and more effective and convenient. The paper introduces some methods to evaluate the landscape value and then bring forward detailed process of one method with the help of fuzzy theory. To combine with the practice of civil engineering, this method is sho~i by an example. In this part structural analysis is also taken into account as well as the evaluation of landscape value, which allows for the evaluation of structural and architectural values of this bridge.
