Residential Building Study On Sustainable Development

The development of Chinese housing is faced with more and more challenge with the arrival of 21st century. The ideology of sustainability, such as energy saving, resources preserving, pollution reducing...and so on, has been crucial in housing design. The author try to explore an ecological design method in the traditional building which is fit for nature and combine it with modem housing design method so as to obtain a design theory of sustainable housing and its essential technological constitution. This article consists of five ideas: Chapter us on the history of sustainability in architecture; Chapter 2 is on the ecological adaptability of vemacular building concluded from the study of traditional building in South AnHui Province; Chapter 3 is the focus of this paper that expounds the theory of sustainability in housing design; Chapter 4 is also the focus that advances the essential technological constitution in sustainable housing; Chapter 5 introduces a few typical works, the domestical or the foreign, of ecological housing. There is an ending with this paper that is the appeal to the government for advanced housing sustainability research,and to the civilians for ecological ideologys,which can ensure the realization of housing sustainability.
