A new intelligent electric energy meter based on DSP technology is researched inorder to deal with the problems existing in eIectric network measuring. Double CPUstructure are designed and used in the meter, one of which is high-speed digital signalprocessor TMS320C25 that is used as the core part of data processing, and the other oneis a single-chip 89C5l that is used as the center of control and management. The meterhas not only the characters of usual intelligent instrument bllt also the merits of highspeed, high precision and good performance in anti-disturbance.In the thesis, some theories about DSP technology, intelligent instrument andthe method of measure the electric power under the big influences of harmonic wave isfirst of all described. And then, it focuses on discussing the design and development ofhardware and software. In aspect of hardware, questions ranging from how to chooseapparatus components to how to design the function modules and interface circuits arediscussed. Besides, the characters and functions of the chips such as TMS329C25.89C5l' AD676' MAX72l9 etc. are also analyzed and depicted; In aspect of software,the development and debug of compile program of 89C5l are mainly discussed. Thetask of the program is to do further processing of data and realize the management ofinstrument .The program is also designed according to the function module. Currentsimulator SICE is used to debug the program.Last, the performance of the meter is tested and the result of the testing is satisfying.Conclusion can be drawn th4t this kind of 0.05 grade high efficiency electric energymeter will have a wideIy application.
