Rotary kiln is rotary facility widely used in various industries such as metallurgy, building materials and chemical engineering. The quality, yield and price of products are decided by technical level of rotary kiln and running conditions. The investigation of mechanical behaviors and the relationships between force and distortion rule of rotary kiln is very important in engineering science. Because of structural factors, there are a lot of defects for analyzing the mechanic behaviors of rotary kiln main components by traditional mechanic calculation. With this in mind, it is necessary for us to combine traditional mechanic calculation and number analysis to investigate the mechanic behaviors of rotary kiln.In this paper, finite element simulation model of main parts was established and the mechanic behaviors were analyzed based on the No. 2 rotary kiln (4 XI00m) in Aluminum factory of Great Wall Aluminum Co. The more details are as follows:Number analysis flow scheme and various principle of finite element analysis were reviewed; large engineering analytical software ANSYS scheme was analyzed. Surface contact and tight fit of supporter were calculated by traditionally mechanic theory. Supporter structure was resolved by Solid95 of ANSYS; outside load of supporter was analyzed by online collecting data under different conditions; finite element simulation model of supporter was established by ANSYS advanced modeling technique as soon as bound conditions were defined; simulation analysis was used to deal with stress and straining for supporter by advanced post solution, say, ANSYS combination and pathway analysis; the ring of roller was analyzed and the pressure distribution of the roller was derivated; the finite element simulation analytical model of roller was established by defining suitable bound conditions.Mechanic behaviors analyzed by Continuing Girder theory and thin shell theory were reviewed; roller body structure was resolved by Shell93 of ANSYS. The body finite element simulation modeling was established by ANSYS advanced modeling technique with defining suitable bound conditions; advanced post technique such as ANSYS pathway analysis were used to the force and the distortion of roller body. By the way, simulation analysis for force and distortion of roller were found.This result obtained by combination of theoretical calculation and number analysis is more2practice that the one obtained by traditional method for whole analysis rotary mechanic behaviors. The analysis of mechanic behaviors of large engineering structure by the number analysis and the large engineering ANSYS software would be good test.
