High-Frequency Protected Channel Testing Instrument (HFPCFI) is a kind of facility used to test the failure of electric circuitry. It can realize the circuitry's primary protection as well. By using it's high-frequency transmitter together with respective peripheral process equipments, programmable testing signals are added to the transmission channel. With the embedded receiver the HFPCFI analyzes the signals caught from the transmission channel in order to get the failure information of the channel.Contraposed to certain limitations in product design of such instruments in current markets, this thesis raises a new design method, in which DSP(Digital Signal Processor)and PC technology are adopted in signal processing and man-machine intercommunication respectively. The paper introduces the system's kernel, Digital Signal Processor (DSP) TMS320C5409's characteristics in hardware&software developments and provides many author's comprehension in it. In addition, the paper focuses on analyzing DSP algorithms applying in the project and makes some improvements of them.Derived from the scientific research project-"Intellectual Carrier-Wave Channel Testing Instrument for Electric Circuitry", this project has passed appraisement made by authority department and all testing results approached or exceeded anticipated targets.
