Positron Emission Tomography(PET), a newly-developed technology in nuclear medical domain, typically characterizes with high-quality, no-scar image diagnose. PET as a milestone in the history of nuclear medicine is indispensable to the development of the modern medicine.On the basis of the explanation about domestic PET, this article focuses on the illustration of the formation of PET control system. As PET is a typically complicated electronic medical instrument and is made of multi-module, which must get involved in data communication each other, the thesis introduces the multi-module communication system of PET in detail.The first part of the thesis briefs what is PET and its comparative technical advantages over other image diagnose technology. Meanwhile, the analysis about the status quo of the development of PET both home and abroad can also be found in this part.The second part puts emphasis on the overall formation, the operating theory and the function of each module of PET system as well as its distinctive features when compared with traditional PET.The third part serves as the emphasis in this article.The data flow of the PET system is analysised in this part.Then,the communication demand and the logic message chanel of the muti-module communication are also analysised in this part. At the last, the structure of electromechanical control system muti-module communication is established.The hardware implement of electromechanical control system muti-module communication is introduced in the fourth part.The serial communication controller-85C30 is introduced firstly.The design of 85C30 interface circuit can be found in this part. Other communication interface circuit also is introduced here.The software implement of electromechanical control system muti-modulecommunication is introduced in the fifth part. Firstly,the communication software design of Gantry is list here, including the 85C30 application program and the overall structure of the Gantry communication program. Secondly, the general communication program of other controller is list, including the sending program ,receiving program and unpack program.Reliability must be taken into consideration in terms of system design. And the sixth part discusses the reliability of communication. As far as serial communication is concerned, the reliability can be guaranteed through hardware and software. We can improve the reliability by adopting fledged RS422 Bus technology, selecting highly reliable IC, and shielding the communication channel. In general, such measures as shaking hand before communication, and rectifying error are applied in software design.At the last part of the thesis paper, how to develop the serial communication debug program is introduced. We can test the control system, control the execution units' action and simulate other serial ports' function by using this program.
