The quality of Mechatronics products and the development level of Mechatronics technology have been important signs which weigh the strength and status of a country internationally. Mechatronics Technology consists of varied technology organically, and it is a course which emphasizes the importance of experiments very much. Mechatronics Technology is mainly supported by automatic control technology and the executable parts of its products are mostly different kinds of electromotors, so controlling electromotor is an important content of Mechatronics Technology. DC motor has good mechanical character and is apt to accomplish varied control rules, and some theories about its controlling are still the basis of AC motor control. Based on Direct Digital Control technology, this paper puts forward a new type of synthetic platform for DC motor control. Its goal lies in fully utilizing the resources in labs and making users understand the basic concepts and principles about DC motor control and automatic control technology with less investment and simple devices.The platform consists of a DC motor, a decelerating mechanism, a driving unit, an I/O circuit of interface, several kinds of sensors and a PC with control software. The communication between the software and the hardware can be implemented on the basis of PC parallel port. This platform uses computer control technology to realize its functions, but for users it can achieve analogue and digital control. This paper finishes mainly the design of hardware circuit and control software. The hardware circuit is divided into some modules in according to function, which are designed separately. During the course of designing, we use OrCAD/PSpice to simulate hardware circuit and supply simulation results in the paper. Then we use Protel 99SE to make circuit boards which pass test in practical application. The software employs virtual instrument technology and achieves the functions such as signal generator, multi-channel oscillograph and controller on compute. The design thought of the software and design course of the software are putting forward in this paper. The software is tested under the environment of Windows 98 operating system and can run normally.In the last part of this paper, several typical experiments are presented for users to master the using method of the platform. With the experiments, we can test the software and hardware at the same time. We supply the results of experiments to prove that the platform can basically realize the required functions.
