The dynamic response of rectangular plate with free or simply supported edges on a viscoelastic foundation under an impact load is investigated in this paper.By using the method of separation of variables and limited Fourier and Laplace transform, the analytical results are obtained. Two Matlab programs are provided to get the numerical results.Calculating examples are presented to illustrate the important role of viscosity of foundation in limiting the development of deflection.The target of this paper is to set up a method of design for rigid pavement under the aircraft load.
