During the process of modern aircraft design, it's a difficult problem for aircraft engineers to analyze and manage large amounts of data. Especially in aircraft's mass property management and calculation, it's inefficient and unacceptable to manage and calculate it by hand. At the same time, aircraft's mass properties are the bases of structure design and other disciplines involved in the design process. In order to ensure design success, it is crucial that database technology should be used in aircraft's mass property management and calculation.This paper integrates RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) into aircraft's mass property management and analysis, solves some key problems of it, presents its data models and function models, designs its management frameworks and realizes them. The system can manage data effectively and systematically in realtime, and monitor, track and record the changes of mass properties of parts and components during the design process. Also, the use of OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) technology makes system's input and output more easily and flexible, shares data with other applications and achieves visual results.It is proved that the system's structure model is correct, the database model is proper and effective, and the result is accurate by building up and managing one aircraft's whole mass properties database. Moreover, this system provides an applicable tool of reducing design cycles and enhances work efficiency and product quality.
