Well-logging technology is one of the technologies in modern petroleum industry with maximum high and new technical factors. It has been developing with the high-speed growth of modern basic and other technical disciplines. This technology has come through three phases, namely, digital logging, numerical control logging and imaging logging. It has been playing extremely important role in the exploration and exploitation of petroleum and natural gas. Chinese researchers in well-logging field have developed new types of logging instruments and information-processing systems by introducing digesting absorbing and ameliorating oversea modern logging technologies. China has become one of the four strongest well-logging countries in the world.This paper brings forward a set of multi-probe ultrasonic imaging logging instrument based on DSP and introduces its operating principle and systematic components. The instrument does data transmission by optical fiber, and thus breaks through the weakness of digital transmission bottleneck of former well-logging instruments caused by ordinary cable. This technological breakthrough is of profound significance in well-logging technology.The system adopts high-speed, low-consumption DSP (digital signal processor) TMS320VC5402 as the processor, combined with high-speed A/D converter IC TLC5540 and ultrasonic sensors to collect environmental information in the pit. It can probe the wall of the well, the thickness of the casing pipe as well as the cement ring outside the wall. Another aspect that is very important is that the fiber optic cables are employed for the communications between the ground and the under pit.On the basis of the actual situation of domestic and international well-logging technology, the paper analyses the modern well-logging technology and its future orientation. Therefore, for the time being, the imaging system designed in the paper can keep ahead domestically and even internationally with wide space of development forward.The paper presents the data analysis theory for ultrasonic imaging logging instrument, provides strong theoretical foundation for actual instrument design, and is of great help to the guidance of practical work.The Paper focuses on the design of data-collecting circuit of the well-logging instrument, and has finished the overall control of data-collecting, data transmitting of the instrument. At the same time it can do primary analysis and calculation of data, which is quite beneficial to long-distance transmission.The paper also introduces the application of the key part of optical fiber transmission, the CY7B923/933 made by Cypress. CY7B923/933 is the special-purpose instrument for inter-transmission between high-speed parallel data and series data, and is specially designed for the long-distance transmission of high-speed series data.
