Wheel Tyre will affect the braking, stability, safety, economy as well as mobility for the towed gun. It is very important and imminent to study the feasibility of the towed gun using pneumatic tyre as there are many defects of the sponge tyre in flexibility, economy, stability and interchangeability. In order to inspire the feasibility of towed gun using pneumatic tyres, the paper has searched after the gun dynamic characteristic differences between using pneumatic tyres and sponge tyres. It has also researched the influence of the gun moving stability.The major research contribution of this thesis lies in:Firstly, a three-dimensional entity model of the towed gun was established, and its weight and structural parameters was ascertained. It is a foundation of establishing gun dynamics simulation model.Secondly, dynamics equation and firing model was established according to gun dynamics theories and launch dynamics of multibody, and the dynamics characteristic difference of shooting and stability was studied.Thirdly, the mechanics model of different road surfaces and tyres was established basedon the Vehicle-Terramechanics and tyremechanics theories.Finally, gun-towed travel model was established, and the gun s moving stability with different running speed and in different road surface when pneumatic tyre had blown out was studied.The results of this paper can be expanded to all kinds of towed guns. It also can be important theoretical basis of improving the active guns and of demonstration and design of new weapons. In summary the paper will be of great value in application.
