The Multi-Mode MERS (Marine Engine Room Simulation) Integrated Simulation System lab is supported by the special funds of the Ministry of communications. The background of development lies in the boom of the shipping transport. Nowadays the manufacture of ship is being improved in larger size, less fuel and higher efficiency, and multi-mode of propulsion has come into existence. The modern ship electric propulsion fuses roundly the most advanced numerical control technology, network technology and the latest development in the fields of the drive and mechanic electronics. One of those modes, the POD electric propulsion to which the international shipbuilding and shipping world has attached importance is the most advanced.The system simulation is to use simulation software to set up simulation model for experiment on the base of math model. At present, the system simulation has become into an very important tool in many fields. The dynamic simulation system of the POD electric propulsion correlates closely with the shipbuilding industry, which will react on accelerating the research of the ship electric propulsion.This project is supported by Fund of Shanghai Science and Technology Development. This dissertation regards the POD electric propulsion system as the researched object aiming at setting up its dynamic simulation system whichmainly includes two aspects-setting up the system's model and simulating.Firstly, according to the characteristic of the simulated ship combined with the collected latest domestic and overseas information about ship electric propulsion, this dissertation expatiates the characteristic of the POD electric propulsion. Secondly this dissertation analyses two important parts-the screw propeller and the propulsion motor. Based on the deep researchin characteristic of the screw propeller, this dissertation sets up its moving model and uses software to simulate the load characteristic of the screw propeller in order to supply the load torque for the propulsion motor. The main power source of the POD electric propulsion system is the propulsion motor.This dissertation analyses the characteristic of some typical kinds of motors used widely in ship electric propulsion such as single three-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine, multi-phase permanent magnet synchronous machine and asynchronous machine and sets up their math models, then uses Matlab to simulate in order to supply solid theory base for researching propulsion system. At last, the ship-motor-propeller model is set up after researching deeply correlation among the ship, the motor and the screw propeller. On the base of previous research, these models of key parts are integrated into a simulation system.To use this simulation system, the performance of static and dynamic state of the electric propulsion system can be foreseen. In the future, the system can be optimized through regulating parameters. This dissertation achieves expected purpose and can be looked on as prophase explore of double three-phase half-physics simulation system.
