| Currently,most asphalt pavement maintenance decisions are made empirically or semi-empirically. Numerous experts are centralized to diagnose pavements when distresses occur. Lack of available data, it's hard for experts to make proper decision for specified distress.In order to approach the purpose, thorough distresses investigation and experts' knowledge collection are made to fulfill maintenance knowledge base system. Asphalt pavement performance database and rich text maintenance strategy information database are employed by reasoning mechanism. With the help of object oriented programming environment and client/server structure, freeway asphalt pavement maintenance expert system is developed. With the system,it is much easier to obtain proper maintenance strategies, query and analyze pavement performance data. User can consultant with the system and make designated analysis easily, it applies information technic to pavement maintenance, and makes more reasonable and scientific maintenance decision. |
