Starting from the conception of BRT (Bus Rapid transit), Through comparing with other public traffic modes, the advantages and its negative influences are briefly analyzed, based upon this, this paper made further research into the requirements and feasible techniques of BRT, as well as its planning process and relative methods. According to the various road transection modes hi big cities, location features of BRT busway was discussed, meanwhile, the harmony design method of BRT busway through crossings was analyzed. Through analyzing the traffic flow features of road with BRT busway, the paper put forward a new conception, traffic efficiency to evaluate the traffic influence of BRT busway, using relative theories, such as traffic capacity, traffic flow theory and queue theory, the paper studied the calculating method of road traffic benefit with BRT busway having been constructed. Based on these results, through comparing the different traffic benefits caused by different BRT busway location, the most reasonable BRT busway location can be easily confirmed. Finally, on the basis of analyzing the BRT station setting method, aimed to achieve minimum average travel time of BRT passengers, the calculating models of the most advantageous BRT station distances was worked out.
