Facing the challenge of urbanism and motorization, a lot of scholars and governments of our country realize that the cities in China may follow the old road of"private car trips"in western developed counties if not take measures to establish reasonable traffic policy, develop public transport firetly. The paper attempt to explore the Method of BRT System Planning based on the fruitful achievements gained by many scholars.First of all, according to running BRT examples both at home and abroad, analyse the systematic characteristic of BRT (including BRT concept, system constitute, BRT advantages, develop experience), propose the different BRT use form in the public traffic system, carries on research to the concept , level of BRT planning, put forward the corresponding planning flow chart and planning content.Then, in order to strengthen the harmony between urban land plan and BRT traffic planning, this text has carried on preliminary research to the rational scale of urban BRT network, from explaining the rational scale meaning of urban BRT network and scale index as starting point, analyse to influence factor of network scale, then according to the conclusion of influence factor of network scale analyse trip demand analytic approach, and carried on research to discernment method of the initial network and choice condition of the concrete corridor on this basis.Secondly, carry on research respectively in influencing key component BRT runningways, BRT stations, traffic engineering application, BRT operation and service. According to different types of running ways, BRT stations design and configuration, dispose in intersections, analyse its application area, advantages & disadvantages. Propose setting condition and configuration toward BRT stops and terminals in different environment. Propose the traffic management measures and signal prioritization for different BRT system. Carry on research to different BRT operation and service finally.Moreover, have proposed evaluation and decision-making method in two levels according to the characteristic of systematic planning of BRT, and has determined the index system.Finally, the paper gives Shijiazhuang BRT planning as an example.
