In this thesis, a turntable servo system is studied. The overall design of this system is introduced. The control system based on PC/104 is developed to realize tracking control. The feedback loop using SDC is designed to obtain the position of servo system. After building the model of turntable servo system by the method of experimentation, the intelligent PID control algorithm is designed to satisfy good performance. At the same time, compound control method is added. Experiment results testified that the design of this system is successful. Finally, two methods of PID control parameter self-tuning are studied. One is using LMI to calculate the three parameters of PID controller. The other is designing a non-linear PID controller. All the parameters of PID controller can be obtained by the method of genetic algorithms. The results of simulation show their effectiveness.
