The science and technology advances rapidly nowadays. The A.C. servo system which uses A.C. servo motor as its driver is applied widely. There are many advantages for a A.C. servo system, such as small size, overload ability, strong output torque, no brush abrasion, and so on. Thus, the A.C. servo system is becoming the main developing direction of modern servo system.Based on the design of a turret automatic tracking servo system, the design scheme of digital servo system is introduced including system technical requirements, composition, working principle and its key problems. The system drive scheme is determined based on the technical requirements. After calculating, the system actuator, measuring sensor and respective data acquisition card are selected. The power checking calculation of motor is executed especially. The mathematical models of turret pitching, cardinal tracing servo system are established through analyzing the composition of turret system. The relative parameters of mathematical models are determined by the mechanism analytical method and experiments. Besides that, the coupling dynamics characteristics of pitching, cardinal freedom system are studied, and the simulation is done. The simulating result shows that its coupling factors can be ignored.The control algorithm of the turret system is discussed in detail in this paper. After introducing the classic PID control algorithm, the simulations are carried out which the turret system is controlled by the PID control algorithm. The curves show that the system precision and performances controlled by PID can't satisfy the index requirements. Thus the intelligent PID control is applied in the turret system. The feed-forward compensation control is imported based on the practical system situation. The simulating result shows that the good control performance can be achieved by the compound control method including intelligent PID and feed-forward compensation control. It can meet the performance index requirement. Generally, the PID parameters tuning requires expertise, and it is applied with the cut and try method. The PID control algorithm based on LMI parameter tuning is designed, and PID parameter self-tuning is realized to a certain degree.In addition, the hardware system scheme of turret computer servo control based on PC/104 bus is designed in this paper. The function and characteristics of signal regulation, isolation and communication interface are researched.
