The ratio of power distribution network's energy loss is an integrated economic indicator. It not only reflects the rationality of the power network's structure and operation mode, but also reflects the level of the power units' technique and management. So, system loss rate is one of the important indexes for evaluating the company management.Generally, transmission line loss' calculation is relatively classical and accurate. But in distribution system, because the structure of the distribute network and low-voltage network is very complicated, and these systems often lack metrical instrument, it is very difficult to calculate energy losses of distribution network property.Based on several methods that can be applied for distribution network losses calculation and the existing status of Chinese electric power system, this paper adequately analyzed and compared with these methods in their accuracy and practicability. A novel practical method is proposed. This method met the requirement for the distribution and low-voltage networks loss calculation, and considered the calculation precision.This paper also analyzed the feasibility of this method. And a calculation program for power supply department daily management has been developed. This program is based on the electric power management MIS platform, and the database and power loss subsystem has been implemented.A new theoretical power loss simulation modal used in low-voltage network has been proposed and corresponding calculation method has been developed. In addition, according to the analysis of typical low-voltage networks' characteristic through statistics and numeric analysis, composite loss rate for all low-voltage networks can be obtained.A scientific method on power loss analysis is presented. Through this method, the results of loss calculation can be analyzed sufficiently. By comparing with all kinds of voltage level's power loss on the different date or district, the weak point of the network can be found and the further work can be done to reduce the power loss.Reactive-load compensation can help to raise the system's voltage level, reduce the power losses, improve the power flow and enhance the stability of power system. Based on the evaluation of loss reduction and economic effects through reactive compensation, the improvement of loss rate and the economic efficiency forengineering can be obtained accurately.This paper implemented the power loss calculation in electric power management MIS. This method makes the most of the existing sources and data, it also met the urgent requirement of the distribution and low-voltage networks loss calculation, and improved the level for the information management of power supplyenterprise.
