Lae Power Plant Condition Based Maintenance Model Prospects And Applications

As the power industry grows, generating units tends to have higher parameters, greater capacity and to be more complex. The economic and safe operation of power generating units is having greater influence on the whole society. The maintenance cost has also increased drastically. Face this circumstances, the presently applied planned maintenance method has gradually exposed its disadvantages, especially during today's power industry reform and under more fierce competition. Hence, applying more advanced and scientific maintenance method becomes more urgent and necessary both for our power plant and the whole society.Based upon my 10 years experience of power plant operation and management, I suggest the measures and tentative plan about applying CDM method (condition dependent maintenance) in our power plant to achieve the goal of gaining lowest cost of maintenance. The analysis concerns about the applied maintenance method of status quo, CDM method, personnel's capability, technical test and analyzing measures. The conceiving CDM method to apply in our power plant is based on diagnosing maintenance and combines fault maintenance and preventive maintenance. Integrating HDPI's EAM project, I present my newest point of view about human resource disposing and main operating process. To achieve strategic management of maintenance, I recommend KKS equipments coding system. Applying CDM method in our power plant is divided in three steps. First, we apply RCM method (reliability centered maintenance) on main equipments to accumulate experience for CDM. Then, we apply CDM method on all equipments in the A,B,C,D four grade maintenance to increase the whole managing level and promote the rapid and healthy development of our power plant. Finally, I present my specific train of thought about applying CDM method on electrical equipments.
