Several critical parts of the Performance Seeking Control (PSC) system for aero-engines are studied in the paper: engine adaptive model building, engine deterioration parameter (EDP) estimation algorithm and integrated propulsion system optimization algorithm.Firstly, the engine models including the nonlinear model and adaptive model are studied, and then the linear model is established. On the study of EDP estimation algorithm, first, the paper introduces a nonlinear EDP estimation algorithm that is developed with full consideration of the characters of engine nonlinear simulation program. But its real time is long, so a developed method is presented. Kalman filtering method and artificial neural network technique are applied. On the study of propulsion system optimization algorithm, the control modes of PSC and an approach to solve optimization problems are introduced. The engine performance optimization problems are converted into nonlinear programming problem. Then, these problems are linearized and are solved with linear programming. Considering real time and precision need, a mixed algorithm is presented. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the above problems and some new solutions to the engine performance seeking control design.
