Waveform Analyzer grows up with the development of DSP, which is a new kind of Electronic Testing Equipment with characteristics of high-speed data acquisition, large-scale data storage, waveform display and data analysis and processing functions. The work of this dissertation comes from the project VXI Waveform Analyzer, which is taken on by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. The dissertation focuses on the subject of the system hardware design of Waveform Analyzer. The design and realization of the signal conditioning and data acquisition module, DSP control and signal processing module and the VXI bus's interface module of the system hardware is discussed in detail in the dissertation. First of all, this dissertation introduces the waveform analyzer's applications in modern electronic measurement and its development in the world. The main research topics are also introduced in this chapter. The next chapter of the dissertation introduces the total hardware structure of Waveform Analyzer and its basic principle. In the third chapter, the principle and design of the signal conditioning circuit, trigger circuit, analog channel conctrol circuit, multiple A/D time-interleaved sampling technology, large-scale high-speed storage circuit of the converted data with different phases control circuit are discussed in detail. In the forth chapter, the design of the DSP control circuit and the data bus-mastering circuit are discribled, and it also illustrates the distribution of the system memory space. In the fifith chapter, the module of the VXI bus's interface and the realization of the data transmition are introduced briefly. Finally, the detailed debugging process of circuit is brought forward. Then some main problems and their causes during the debugging are listed and analyzed. And some feasible solutions are offered as well. The performance specification testing methods are also given in the last chapter. To realize the ultra high-speed Waveform Analyzer with existing low-speed A/D converters and high-speed data storage with low-speed memory is a typical application, which is implemented in the design of the Waveform Analyzer.
