Radial Tire Cad Research

With the rapid development of automobile industry and tire industry, radial tires with good performances are widely used. The study on radial tire attracts high attention. The three dimensional FEA of radial tire is an active research field.ANSYS FEA software is used to simulate the radial tire performances. Based on the research of other people, the steps of FE model creation of radial tire are given in the thesis. The geometric model generation and the meshing of the model of radial tire are finished in AutoCAD software. An Autolisp program is developed to transfer the information of geometric model in AutoCAD software into an FE model file. To simulate the composite material properties of radial tire, the layed structural elements are used in the FE model of radial tire. The FE model is verified by experiments. Changing the contour and the material of radial tire can generate the different FE models of radial.CAD system of radial tire is developed with Visual Basic in the thesis. It can be used to generate FE model automatically and create engineering drawings for tire production, which makes the optimal design easier. The CAD system of radial tire reduces the time of design greatly. This software is also valuable to the further dynamic simulation of radial tire.
